He is also known for starring in numerous films, including the Star Wars series of films, in which he played Senator Bail Organa.
He was married to Barbara Smits from 1980 to 1987. He and Barbara have two children together.
In 1987, he and his girl friend actress Wanda De Jesus were arrested after attacking three police officers at his home.
In 2001, he was arrested again while engaging in a protest against the U.S. Navy's bombing practices on the Puerto Rican island of Vieques.
