Jimmy Somerville has pursued a successful music career that has spanned more than three decades. The Scottish singer and songwriter came to prominence in the 1980s as a member and co-founder of the British pop trio, Bronski Beat and then as half of the syntho-pop duo, The Communards alongside Richard Coles.
