About JJ Cale
JJ Cale was the stage name of John Weldon Cale, an American musician, guitarist, songwriter and music producer. He began his career as a studio engineer in late 1964 in Los Angeles. He first garnered attention when his song, “After Midnight”, recorded by Eric Clapton in 1970 became a hit. Piggybacking on the success of the song, he released his debut album, “Naturally” in October 1971. One of his most popular songs was “Crazy Mama”. He is credited with being one of the pioneers of the Tulsa sound.

He grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was married to musician Christine Lakeland.
Achievements
He won a Grammy Award with Eric Clapton for their collaborative studio album, “The Road to Escondido”.

He died from a heart attack on July 26, 2013.
