About Jocelyne Béroard
Jocelyne Béroard is a Martinican singer and songwriter. She became a household name in the Caribbean through her work as a lead singer of the band, Kassav’. She joined the band in 1983 and helped to popularize the band’s own genre of music called zouk through her solo career.
Her most popular works include the album Siwo and the collaborative single with French singer Philippe Lavil titled Kolé séré.
Béroard has also made appearances in the feature films Siméon, Nèg maron and Le Gang des Antillais.
Achievements
In 1991, she was the Prix SACEM Martinique’s Best Female award recipient.
