About Joe Frisco
Named Louis Wilson Joseph at birth, he was popular for his great skills at jazz dancing.
Personal life
He was born in Illinois in the United States and even though his father usually embarrassed him for stuttering, his mom coddled him and taught him how to dance.
He usually had a big cigar in his mouth when he danced and had a derby hat on. He was well paid but he was always in debt because he rarely put his money to good use. He rather used his money to bet on horses and was always on the race tracks.
Career
He performed with the Louisiana Five and Tom Brown’s Band among others. He also became a well acclaimed comedian and was popular for his stuttering voice.
Between the 1920’s and 1930’s, he became a mainstay on the vaudeville circuit. He has been in “The Happy Hottentots”, “Ride, Tenderfoot, Ride”, “Sweet Smell of Success” and “Riding High”.
Death
In February 1958, Joe died from Cancer in Woodland Hills.
