Joe Theismann is a former American football player renowned for his brilliant career as a quarterback in the NFL with the Washington Redskins. Upon his retirement as a professional football player in 1985, he went on to become a renowned sports commentator with ESPN.
Personal Life
He fathered three children with his first wife Shari Brown, who he was married to from 1970 to 1984. His second marriage was to Jeanne Caruso in 1991. The marriage ended in divorce in 1995. His third marriage was to Robin Theismann in 1996.
Achievements
Some of his notable achievements during his illustrious career with the Redskins include helping the team win Super Bowl XVII as well as winning the NFL Most Valuable Player award and the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award in 1983.
In 2003, he received his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.
