About John Carradine
John Carradine’s five-decade-long career as an actor has been touted as one of the most prolific ones in the history of Hollywood.
He is known to have earned more than 350 acting credits in television series and films in the horror and Western genres. He also appeared in Shakespearean theatre.
Some of his memorable film roles are Reinhard Heydrich in “Hitler’s Madman”, Preacher Casy in “The Grapes of Wrath” and Aaron in “The Ten Commandments”.
Family Life
He was born to Dr Genevieve Winnifred Richmond and William Reed Carradine. He was married to Ardanelle McCool (1935-1944), Sonia Sorel (1944-1956), Doris Rich (1957-1971) and Emily Cisneros (1975-his death). He had five sons.
Achievements
He was a Daytime Emmy Award winner for his performance in the children’s series, “Umbrella Jack”.
Death
He died on 27 November 1988 from kidney and heart failure.
