About John Dolmayan
In 1997, John Dolmayan joined the heavy metal group System of a Down as a replacement for the departing Ontronik "Andy" Khachaturian. By the end of 2005, he had helped them to record five studio albums which include their eponymous maiden one and “Hypnotize”.
Other projects
Aside from the aforementioned group, the Armenian-American musician has also worked with the Scars on Broadway band which he co-created in 2006. Two years later, they released their self-titled maiden album.
In 2003, he helped Killing Joke to release an eponymous album. He was also active on the “Blah...Blah...Blah...Love Songs for the New Millennium” album which was released by the Scum of the Earth.
Family
His parents are Armenian and his dad was a saxophonist. He has been married to Diana Dolmayan.
Achievements
With the System of a Down group, he has won many awards which include the Kerrang! Awards, California Music Awards, and the MTV Europe Music Awards.
