John Howard is an Australian politician best known for being the 25th Prime Minister of Australia. Prior to becoming prime minister, he held several important positions in his home country such as Treasurer of Australia and Leader of the Liberal Party. As of the time he stepped down as prime minister in 2007, he was Australia's second-longest serving prime minister.
Family Life
He was born to Mona and Lyall Howard. He grew up with three older brothers, including renowned academic Bob Howard. In 1971, he got married to Janette Howard, with whom he had three children.
Trivia
He was a successful solicitor before entering into politics.
In 2009, the President of the United States George W. Bush honored him with the highest civilian award in the United States, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
