American Book Award winner John Joseph Wieners was famous for his writing prowess during the 1940s.
Early Life
The poet attended St. Gregory Elementary School and later graduated from Boston College High School. He later enrolled at Boston College from 1950 to 1954. Wieners moved on to Black Mountain College from 1955 to 1956.
Career
Wieners started out his career at Eighth Street Books from 1962 to 1963. He later worked as a subscription editor for Jordan Marsh department stores until 1965. He released "The Hotel Wentley poems" in 1958, "Cultural Affairs in Boston" in 1988, and “Behind the state capitol, or Cincinnati Pike" in 1975.
