About Jordan Staal
Jordan Staal’s rookie year in the National Hockey League (NHL) was very memorable due to the new records he set. Following two years of playing time in the Ontario Hockey League with the Peterborough Petes, he entered the 2006 NHL Draft, during which he was chosen by the Pittsburgh Penguins. He played in the NHL with the Penguins from 2006 to 2012, when he joined the Carolina Hurricanes in a trade agreement.
Family Life
He is the younger brother of professional hockey players Eric and Marc Staal, both of whom have played in the NHL. His younger brother is Jared Staal, a former NHL player. Since 2012, he has been married to Heather Dysievick, with whom he has four children.
Achievements
He has won a Stanley Cup, three Steve Chiasson Awards and the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Michel Briere Rookie of the Year Award.
Trivia
He and his brother Marc were members of the Canadian ice hockey team which won the gold medal at the 2007 World Championship.
