Spiro is Jewish, born and raised in New York City. The actress attended the “Circle in the Square Theatre School” in New York where she studied drama. Additionally, she briefly enrolled in London’s “Royal Academy of Dramatic Art”. In 2015, she earned an MFA in Filmmaking from Columbia University.
Career Highlights
She began her acting career in the 1990s, making appearances on several comedic TV movies and shows. However, she landed her debut film role in the 1999 film “From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman’s Daughter.”
Between 2006 and 2010, she played one of her most famous roles, “P.J Franklin” in the TBS television comedy series “My Boys.” Her other notable roles include Dr. Grace Devlin in the 2012-2013 season of “The Mob Doctor”, Rachel Garrison in Netflix’s “Ozark” and Sarah Weller in “Blindspot.”
She has directing and acting credits on “Night Comes On” and “Skin” which were all premiered at Sundance Film Festivals.
Personal Life
As of 2022, she had a daughter with her spouse, Matthew Spitzer.
