About Joseph Conrad
Joseph Conrad, who was born as Jozef T. Konrad Korzeniowski, was a Polish-British author noted as a serial-English novelist. He is best known for his novel, “Heart of Darkness”, which captured his marine experience, as well as The Secret Agent, Chance and Lord Jim.
His first novel, Almayer’s Folly was published in 1895 at age 36.

His parents were Polish patriots, Apollo and Ewa Bobrowska. He got married to Jessie Emmeline George in 1896 and had two sons, John and Borys.

He has been credited as an influencer of other great 20th century writers such as George Orwell, William Faulkner and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
