About Jozy Altidore
Footballer Josmer Volmy Altidore began playing professionally at 16 years old with the New York Red Bulls in 2006. Two years later, he joined the Spanish club Villareal, which also sent him on loan to Xerez, Hull City and Bursaspor between 2009 and 2011. He then had two-year stints each with Dutch club AZ and English side Sunderland.
In 2015, he made a comeback to the Major League Soccer with Toronto FC. He has played for the U17, U20, U23 and senior national teams of the United States.
Family Life
He grew up in Boca Raton, Florida alongside three elder siblings. His parents were immigrants from Haiti. He got engaged to tennis player Sloane Stephens in 2019.
Achievements
In 2016, 2017 and 2019, he won the MLS Eastern Conference and the Canadian Championship with Toronto FC. He was the recipient of the MLS Cup “MVP Award” in 2017.
Trivia
He helped raise funds for the 2010 Haiti earthquake victims.
