About Judy Dyble
Judy Dyble was an English singer whose decades’ spanning career featured her dropping a number of solo projects in addition to serving as a member on a handful of famous bands, particularly during the late 1960s. In fact, what is she best known for is co-founding a folk group in that era called Fairport Convention, serving as their initial lead vocalist and dropping songs such as “If I Had a Ribbon Bow” as part of the band.
She was heavily involved in the 1960s’ musical era, having personally interacted with the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd.
Other famous groups she was a part of are Giles, Giles and Fripp and a musical duo known as Trader Horne.
Between 1968 and 2020 she released approximately 20 albums, most of them as a soloist after the year 2000.
Family Life
She married a musician by the name of Simon Stable in the early 1970s and remained with him until he passed away in 1994.
Trivia
Judy initially retired from music in the early 1970s and was employed as a librarian and later on started a company duplicating cassette tapes. However, she occasionally participated in some of Fairport Convention’s reunion ceremonies and other such events. And she resumed regular musical activities in the early 21st century.
