About Julia Mancuso
American alpine skier Julia Mancuso participated in her first World Cup competition in 1999 at age 15. Two years later, she made her Olympic Games debut. She gained global recognition in 2006 when she won gold at the Olympic Games. At the 2010 edition of the Games, she won two silver medals, one each in the combined and downhill events.
Before retiring from the sport in 2018, she won three bronze and two silver medals at the World Championships.
Family
She’s the daughter of drug dealer Ciro Mancuso. Her two sisters are Sara and April. After ending her relationship with Aksel Lund Svindal, she got married to Dylan Fish, a surfer. They have a son called Sonny Fish Mancuso.
Education
In 2000, she ended her education at The Winter Sports School.
Achievements
She won five gold and three bronze medals at the Junior World Ski Championship.
Trivia
In 2014, she became America’s alpine skier with the highest number of Olympic medals.
