Acting Career
The gifted performer debuted her acting career at age 19, touring in the play, "Mrs. Bumstead-Leigh". Not long after, she played the role of Ophelia in a Hollywood Playhouse rendition of Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”.
The first movie Julie Haydon featured in MGM Studio’s western drama film “The Great Meadow'' [1931]. Her most notable movie was “The Scoundrel '' [1935] in which she co-starred with English actor and playwright Noël Coward.
After 1937, the actress shifted her focus from the screens to the stage. Turning her attention to the theatre, she played the roles of Kitty Duval in “The Time of Your Life” [1939] and Laura Wingfield in “The Glass Menagerie” [1945].
Death
The actress died of abdominal cancer at age 84 [1994] in Wisconsin, USA.
