About Julius Streicher
After the First World War, Julius Streicher joined the German Nationalist Protection and Defense Federation (Deutschvölkischer Schutz- und Trutzbund), an anti-Semitic federation. He later became a member of the German Socialist Party in 1920 and founded the party’s Nuremberg branch.
The following year, he turned to the N--i Party where he would spend the rest of his political career. In 1925, he served as the party’s leader at Nordbayern. Three years later, he was put in charge of the party’s operation at Nuremberg-Fürth.
Publisher
Streicher supported the N--i Party with his numerous articles in the Der Stürmer newspaper which he founded in 1923. The publication was used as the propaganda tool for the party.
Family
He was born to Anna Weiss and Friedrich Streicher, and spent his childhood with eight siblings. He was married to Adele Tappe. Before that, he was the husband of Kunigunde Roth. He was survived by two children named Elmar and Lothar.
Death
Streicher was found guilty during the Nuremberg trials and was sentenced to death by hanging.
