About Juliusz Słowacki
The history of Polish literature will not be complete without the mentioning of Juliusz Slowacki. A key figure during the Polish Romantic era, Slowacki is named as one of the country’s "Three Bards". His first recognized publication came in 1832.
Throughout his career, the Polish poet wrote over 250 poems and more than 20 dramas. Some of his most popular poems are titled “Anhelli” and “Testament mój”. As a dramatist, Slowacki was popular for his 1834 work “Balladyna”.

His parents were Salomea Januszewska and her husband Euzebiusz Słowacki.
Education
The poet was an alumnus of Vilnius Imperial University.

Some popular landmarks that have been named after him are Kraków’s Juliusz Słowacki Theatre, and the Kremenets-based Juliusz Slowacki Museum.
He fled to France after the 1830 Uprising.
