Karen Elson got her start in the fashion industry of Great Britain at 16 years old. She began her career after she was discovered by the owner of a Manchester-based modelling agency. She made her debut on the international stage two years with a cover appearance on Vogue Italia.
She has covered more than 30 magazines and walked the runway for brands such as Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Dior and Tom Ford.
Musical career
In 2010, she made her solo music career debut with the release of her first album, “The Ghost Who Walks”.
Family Life
She is the fraternal twin sister of filmmaker and model Kate Elson. She was raised in Oldham, Greater Manchester. Her marriage to American singer Jack White from 2005 to 2013 produced two children.
Achievements
She has been a recipient of the British Fashion Award for Best Model and the VH1 Fashion Award for Model of the Year.
Trivia
She is known to be a child rights advocate and has served Save the Children as an ambassador.
