About Karl Friedrich Schinkel
Karl Friedrich Schinkel designed a number of Berlin’s prominent structures during the 19th Century. Most of his works were categorized under the neoclassicism and neo-Gothic movements. Some famous structures that he designed were the Altes Museum, and the Konzerthaus Berlin.
As a Painter
The Prussian designer was also known for his eye-catching paintings. His first notable work appeared in public in 1813 which was labelled the “Gothic Cathedral by a River”. He went on to produce many works with the most popular ones titled “Medieval City on a River” and “Uranus and the Dance of the Stars”.

He lost his father at the age of six years.
