She was born as Kathryn Louise Allen but she performed under the stage name Kate Wolf. The singer grew up in San Francisco, California. She attended Berkeley High School and University of California.
Kate Wolf was married twice and her second marriage was with Terry Fowler. She was a mother of two children.
Career Highlight
She was known to be a great singer who didn’t live long enough to experience more success. During her time as a singer, she released more than 10 albums; and her first album, which was titled “Back Roads”, was released in 1976. The album was released with the help of the Wildwood Flower band. She went ahead to release more great albums, including “Safe at Anchor” (1979), “Give Yourself to Love” (1982), “The Wind Blows Wild” (1988) and “Looking Back at You” (1994).

She worked with Bill Griffin on most of her songs.
Honor
The World Folk Music Association created the Kate Wolf Award in honor of her.
Death
The American actress died of leukemia. Her fellow singers were saddened by her death and it generated the release of tribute songs from Eric Bogle, Kyle Carey, Nanci Griffith and Joel Koosed.
Also in order to keep her legacy, her music is celebrated all the time at the Kate Wolf Memorial Festival.
