Early Life & Education
She was born in Wallingford, England. However, as a result of her father’s work as a British diplomat, she has lived in various countries in the Middle Eastern. In 1988, Katty graduated with a BA in modern languages from St Hilda’s College, Oxford.
Career Highlights
After college, she briefly worked at the Bank of England before moving to Zimbabwe to work for an aid organization.
However, she began journalism in 1990 after joining the BBC as a Zimbabwe correspondent. Katty later moved to London to work for the “BBC World Service radio”.
She has been a reporter and main anchor for the BBC for over three decades, reporting on the network’s coverage of the 2016 and 2020 US presidential elections, international financial collapses, Washington politics, sex scandals, world economic crises and many other global events. As of March 2022, she was a special US correspondent for the BBC studios.
