Kazuo Ishiguro is a multiple award-wining English author, filmmaker, singer, and short-story writer who has been recognized as one of the most famous modern novelists in English.
His books, "A Pale View of Hills" and "An Artist of the Floating World," were notable for their elegiac tone and explorations of Japanese culture. Following that, he experimented with various genres such as science fiction and historical fiction.
He has received multiple Man Booker Prize nominations and won in 1989 for his novel named “The Remains of the Day”. The said novel was made into a film of the same name in 1993. "The Unconsoled," "Klara and the Sun," and "Never Let Me Go" are among his other best-selling works.

He was born to a physical oceanographer, Shizuo Ishiguro, and his wife Shizuko. He is married to Lorna MacDougall. He has a daughter called Naomi Ishiguro.
