About Keefe Brasselle
Henry Keefe Brasselle, popularly called Keefe Brasselle, was a Hollywood film star, producer, television personality and author. Brasselle is best remembered for his leading role in the 1953 film “Eddie Cantor Story”.
Early Life & Career Highlights
He was born in Elyria, Ohio, USA. Brasselle joined motion pictures in the 1940s while he served in the US Navy. His first notable role came in 1945 when he co-starred in the mystery film “River Gang”.
In the early 1950s, he was considered a promising acting talent, appearing in popular films such as “Three Young Texans”, “A Place in the Sun” and “Bannerline”. However, he rose to fame in 1953 when he played the leading role of Cantor in “Eddie Cantor Story”.
Unfortunately, in the 1960s, the actor’s television production career was short-lived. He sold three series to CBS in 1964, “The Cara Williams Show”, “Baileys of Balboa” and “The Reporters” which were all canceled in 1964 during their first season.
He wrote “The Cannibals” in 1968, exposing authoritative individuals in the American entertainment industry.
Marriage & Death
Between 1942 and 1956, he was married to Norma Jean Aldrich. He then married singer Arlene DeMarco in 1956 but they divorced in 1967.
The actor died from liver cancer, aged 58, on July 7, 1981.
