At 12 years old, New Zealand actress Keisha Castle-Hughes starred in her first film, “Whale Rider” as Paikea Apirani. The role shot her to instant fame and helped her become respected as an actress. She has since portrayed significant characters such as Mary in the 2006 biblical drama film, “The Nativity Story”, Young Kat in the television film, “Piece of My Heart” and Hana Gibson in the crime drama television series, “FBI: Most Wanted”.
Family Life
Her father, Tim Castle is Anglo-Australian while her mother, Desrae Hughes is Maori from New Zealand. From 2003 to 2010, she was in a relationship with Bradley Hull, with whom she had her first daughter when she was only 17. She got married to Jonathan Morrison in 2012 and divorced him four years later. In June 2021, she had her second daughter with Donny Grahamer, whom she married earlier in the year.
Achievements
She was nominated for an Oscar for her role in “Whale Rider”. Her role in the film also won her a Young Artist Award and a Broadcast Film Critics Association Award.
