About Ken Singleton
A three-time All-Star player and the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Famer, Ken Singleton has written his name in the history of American baseball. He is an excellent writer and reporter on all things baseball and a World Series Champion.
Early Life
This New Yorker was a two-sport star player in high school. He also played baseball in the Bronx Federation League and this caught the eyes of coaches. As a result, he was selected by the New York Mets in the 1967 Major League Baseball draft.
Career
Singleton made his debut in 1972, however, he was traded to the Montreal Expos in 1972. He played his best game with the Baltimore Orioles where he was selected thrice as an All-Star player. He also won the World Series Championship in 1983.
He retired at the age of 37 years, having chalked up 246 home runs and averaged .289.
Post Retirement
Singleton started his career as a color commentator in 1985, and by 1997, he had become the commentator for the New York Yankees on the YES Network. A Roberto Clemente Award winner, Singleton retired from broadcasting on October 2, 2021.
