About Kevin Ayers
Kevin Ayers was a celebrated English singer-songwriter and music producer remembered for being one of the founding members of the pioneering psychedelic rock band Soft Machine. Upon his departure from Soft Machine, he went on to establish a long and successful solo career and released 17 solo albums, including his critically acclaimed 1969 debut album Joy of a Toy. He is regarded as one of the most influential figures in the entire history of British psychedelia.

He was the son of television producer and poet Rowan Ayers. He had three daughters: Rachel, Galen and Annaliese.

He battled with a severe addiction to heroine for several years.
He died in his sleep in 2013.
