About Kevin Warwick
English engineer Kevin Warwick is globally known for his contribution to the development of artificial intelligence. He was influential in the creation of the genetic algorithm called Gershwyn. Regarded as one of the most popular computer scientists of his generation, Warwick has also embarked on multiple researches on robotics.
In 1999, he was officially recognized as the only person to use the internet to perform a learning experiment on a robot. A year before that, he began his most popular work termed ‘Project Cyborg’. As a lecturer, he has worked at a number of institutions which include Coventry University, Newcastle University and the University of Warwick.
Education
After graduating from Lawrence Sheriff School, he enrolled at Aston University. The famous scientist earned his PhD certificate from Imperial College London.
Decorations
Some of his numerous accolades are the Royal Society of Medicine’s Ellison-Cliffe Medal and the Golden Eurydice Award. He has also been selected into some famous institutions like the International Academy for Systems and Cybernetic Sciences and the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.
Trivia
His extensive works on robotics have earned him the nickname "Captain Cyborg".
He has also contributed to fields like biomedical engineering and control systems.
