2008 Rose Bowl Hall of Fame Inductee Joseph Keyshawn Johnson is a former American professional football player. He played the role of a wide receiver in the National Football League for more than 10 seasons.
Early Life and Education
The football player lived most of his youthful days in California and enrolled at the Palisades High School and, later, the Susan Miller Dorsey High School. He began college football at West Los Angeles College and later joined the University of Southern California, where he played from 1994 to 1995.
Career
Johnson started his professional career with the New York Jets by being the first overall selection in the 1996 NFL Draft. He played 3 seasons with the team and caught more than 8 passes and interceptions. In 2000, Johnson joined Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played in the team from 2000 to 2003. The NFL player later signed with the Dallas Cowboys and played from 2004 to 2005 before finally playing for Carolina Panthers until his retirement in 2006.
Personal Life
Johnson was first married to Shakiri Hightower from 1998 to 2002 but later divorced and remarried Jennifer Conrad in 2014. The football player has 4 children as of 2021.
Achievements
With the Tampa BayBuccaneers, he won the Super Bowl championship in 2002.
He is a 3-time Pro Bowl recipient (1998, 1999, 2001)
