About Leon Washington
Leon was a top talent during his time in college, he drafted in the National Football League in 2006 as a signee of the New York Jets. After his three years spell with the team, he moved to the Seattle Seahawks before joining the New England Patriots in 2013. He ended his career in the league as a player of the Tennessee Titans. As a player, he starred in two Pro Bowls as a return specialist or a running back.
Coaching career
Washington stayed in the sport after announcing his retirement in 2014. He started his coaching career two years later with the Jacksonville Jaguars. In 2019, he was hired by the Detroit Lions to work as one of their assistant coaches. Two years later, he joined his former team the New York Jets as a deputy coach.
Education and Family
Washington was a member of the Andrew Jackson High School football team before joining Florida State University. He married Charity Washington in 2008.
Trivia
Before ending his career in the league, he was one of the few players to record eight kickoff return touchdowns.
He owns a self-named charity foundation.
