About Lesley Gore
Born Lesley Sue Goldstein in New York, she was an actress, singer and activist. She was a host for “In the Life”, a PBS series that was centered on LGBTQ+ issues. She came out as a lesbian on “After Ellen”. Even though it was during an era where being different was an issue, she lived her life freely without having to pretend she was straight.
She was in a relationship with Lois Sasson, a jewelry designer who she was planning to get married to but did not live long enough to make that a reality. They were together for over thirty years.
