He had gotten married four times but the last person he got married to was Barbaree Early in 2001.
The marriage ended in 2010 when he died. He had a sibling by name Erik Nielsen, a politician.
He was known to have two children by names Thea Nielsen and Maura Nielsen from his second wife. He died of pneumonia in 2010.
