About Lilia Kopylova
Lilia Andreyevna Kopylova is a Russian professional dancer. After winning the USSR dance competition in 1990 with Danish dance champion Mikhail Batashov, she received the nod to participate in international competitions in Copenhagen, France and Italy, finishing victorious in all of them.
Kopylova was also Russia’s representative in the international dance championships held in Denmark in 1994. Besides her dance championship wins in Britain, she is also known for her participation in Strictly Come Dancing.
Family Life
Five months after she met English dancer Darren Bennett in 1997, she migrated to the UK to participate in dance competitions with him as his professional partner. They got married in January 1999. The two have been in professional dance since 2003 and have won various championships together.
Achievements
Kopylova alongside Bennett were the 1997 British Youth Champions and the winners of the British Championships for Professional Latin in 2005.
