About Lisa Gerrard
Lisa Gerrard has gained international attention for her dramatic contralto type of voice. The multi-talented Australian entertainer is best known as the half of the music group, Dead Can Dance alongside Brendan Perry. She has helped the group to release over seven studio albums which include their eponymous maiden one.
Solo career
Aside from the successes she has recorded with the group, she has also gained fame as an independent performer. She issued her first album in 1995 which was under the name “The Mirror Pool”. The project reached number 38 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart. Her next album came eleven years later which was dubbed “The Silver Tree”.
She has also recorded songs for many popular films such as “Gladiator” and “The Insider”
Family
Her romantic relationship with Jacek Tuschewski, a graphic designer, produced two kids.
Achievements
She has won many awards as a member of the aforementioned band and also as a solo artist. Some of her awards are Las Vegas Film Critics Society Awards, Satellite Awards, and Golden Globe Awards. She was also nominated for a Grammy Award in 2001 and 2019.
Trivia
Before rising to fame, she was a member of the Little Band scene.
