About Lisandro López
Lisandro López gained international recognition after he joined Portuguese side FC Porto in 2005. During his four years stay with the club, the Argentine striker, who occasionally played as a winger, won four Primeira Liga, and two Taça de Portugal.
In 2009, he was signed by France’s Olympique Lyonnais to replace the departing Karim Benzema. He continued his impressive performance and became the fans’ favorite. He helped the team to win the Coupe de France in 2012.
He has also featured for some well-known teams including Al-Gharafa Sports Club, Internacional, and Racing Club de Avellaneda.
International career
His performance with Porto earned him a call up into the national team in 2005. He played his first match later that year in a friendly game against Mexico.
Achievements
After the 2009/2010 season, he was crowned Ligue 1’s “Player of the Year”. Two years before that, he was named the Primeira Liga “Player of the Year”. He was also the recipient of the CNID Footballer of the Year award in 2008.
