Education
The rugby union player enrolled and graduated from Tonga College 'Atele. He began his amateur career in the sport by playing for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs from 2009 to 2010.
Career
Timani began his professional career in 2012 when he signed on to join The New South Wales Waratahs and played with the team until 2013. He continued his senior career with The Melbourne Rising in 2014 while playing for other teams such as La Rochelle from 2018 to 2021, Toulon from 2021 to 2022 and Cardiff Rugby in 2022.
The Tonga-born sportsman played for the Australia national rugby union team in 2016 and later went on to play for the Tonga national rugby union team in 2021.
Assault by ex-teammate
Timani's childhood friend and ex-teammate on the Melbourne Rebels, Amanaki Mafi, viciously attacked him in New Zealand, beating him up and putting him in the trunk of a car in 2018. He ran for his life, only to be chased and beaten again at a nearby park before being put into a car and driven across town. He escaped at the intersection, hiding in a bush. Timani pled guilty to the assault and was slapped with a $50,000 reparation to Timani.
