About Lorenzen Wright
He was a basketball player who featured in the power forward position. The late NBA star, after two seasons with the men’s basketball team of the University of Memphis, entered the 1996 NBA draft during which he was chosen by the Los Angeles Clippers. He also had stints with other teams including the Atlanta Hawks and Sacramento Kings. He ended his career, as a player of the Cleveland Cavaliers, in 2009.
Family Life
Before his death, he was married to Sherra Wright. They had seven children together. She was handed a 30-year imprisonment sentence for facilitating Wright’s murder in July 2019, nine years after he was found dead.
Achievements
His career achievements include being included in the 1996 All-Conference USA’s first team. He won a gold medal when he participated in the 1995 Summer Universiade as a member of Team USA.
Death
His corpse was found in the woods about 10 days after he went missing. It happened that he had been shot to death and the perpetrator was Billy Turner, his wife’s church deacon.
