About Louis Smith
Louis Smith wrote his name in the annals of British sports history when in 2008, he became the first British to win a medal in artistic gymnastics at the Olympics in 80 years (since the 1928 event).
The retired gymnast, who competed in the Pommel horse and team all-around events, first represented England in the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia before he got the chance to represent Great Britain for the first time at the 2008 Olympic Games. He also competed in multiple European Championships and World Championships.
Family Life
He was three years old when his Jamaican father, Claude and his English mother, Elaine separated. In 2021, he welcomed his first child with jazz dancer Charlie Bruce whom he started dating in November 2017.
Achievements
His career yielded a total of 20 medals, including two European Championship gold medals, two Commonwealth Games gold medals and two Olympic silver medals.
Trivia
He won the first edition of the British reality dancing competition, “The Masked Dancer” in 2021.
