About Lowell George
Lowell George’s love for music started at a very young age. Before his tenth birthday, he had performed on a number of TV shows. In 1965, he joined his first music group known as ‘The Factory’. The American singer co-wrote the group’s most popular single titled "Smile, Let Your Life Begin".
He went on to perform with Frank Zappa’s rock band called Mothers of Invention before creating Little Feat, also a rock band. With the latter, he played multiple instruments in addition to his role as the lead singer. He contributed to the recording of the group’s first nine albums including “The Last Record Album” and “Dixie Chicken”.
Solo career and other projects
George also embarked on many solo projects aside from his work with the band. In 1979, he issued his first studio album dubbed “Thanks, I'll Eat It Here”.
Apart from singing, this American musician was also a recognized record producer. He was best known for his work on Grateful Dead's album titled “Shakedown Street” which was released in 1978. Through his work as a producer, he worked with other popular musicians such as John Starling and Valerie Carter.
Family
His father Willard H. George, was a very popular furrier. He also had a brother named Hampton. George had four kids with a lady named Elizabeth.

He was a student of Hollywood High School.

The singer experienced a severe heart attack which caused his death in 1977.
