About Luca Toni
Luca Toni is an Italian professional soccer player whose senior career began in 1994 with Modena F.C. Upon his departure from Modena, he went on to play for several clubs such as Brescia, Palermo, Bayern Munich and Verona. He joined the Italy national football team in 2004 and represented them in major tournaments such as the 2006 FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Euro 2008.
Personal Life
In 2012, he and his partner model Marta Cecchetto had a baby who was stillborn. The following year, the couple had a daughter named Bianca. In 2014, they welcomed their son Leonardo.
Trivia
In 2006, he made history by becoming the first Italian soccer player to ever win the European Golden Shoe award.
In 2015, he was sued by the German government for an amount of €1.7 million which he owed as unpaid Catholic Church taxes. He reacted by suing his former tax adviser, arguing that while playing for Bayern Munich in Germany, he was registered by the club as a Catholic without his knowledge. The court ruled in his favor.
