Between 1991 and 1996, he played for Real Madrid. He moved to Barcelona in 1996 and played for them until his retirement in 2004. In total, he made over 500 caps for the two Spanish giants.
He represented Spain at three FIFA World Cups (1994, 1998, and 2002).
Coaching Career
As of 2021, he had coached Barcelona B, AS Roma, Celta Vigo, Barcelona, and the Spanish national team. In addition, he has won several trophies with Barcelona, including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, La Liga, and Copa Del Rey. He also led Spain to second place finish at the 2020-21 UEFA Nations League.
