Luka Dončić is a well-known phenomenal Slovenian basketball star. He is one of the greatest 21st-century basketball players, earning numerous trophies and accolades across the "EuroLeague" and "NBA". He has also enjoyed various successful spells with the Slovenian men's national basketball team.
Background & Early Career
He was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia. At age 8, he joined his native basketball side, Union Olimpija. He made history with Olimpija in 2011, when he helped the team place second in the "Vasas Intesa Sanpaolo Cup" and was named "MVP" of the tournament.
Luka permanently joined Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2012. Luca established himself as one of the best youth players in the team's history, winning various MVP awards and trophies at all amateur levels.
Professional Career Highlights
At age 16 in 2015, he debuted in the "Liga ACB" with Real Madrid, becoming the youngest player to feature in the league. With Madrid, he won three "Liga ACB" titles, back-to-back "Spanish King's Cup (2017 & 2018)" and one "EuroLeague" (2018). In 2018, he was the "MVP" of the "Liga ACB" and "EuroLeague".
He joined "The Dallas Mavericks" of the NBA in 2018. As of 2022, he was a 3-time "NBA All-Star" and led the all-time "triple-doubles" record in the franchise history of the Mavericks.
He was integral to the Slovenian men's national team that won the 2017 "EuroBasket" title.
