About M. G. Ramachandran
After rising to fame as an actor, Maruthur Gopalan Ramachandran gained additional recognition after he served as the Chief Minister for the Indian state known as Tamil Nadu from 1977 to 1987. He, however, began his acting profession in 1936 and made over seventy on-screen appearances including silver screen projects like “Manthiri Kumari” and “En Thangai”.
Family
He’s the son of Maruthur Satyabhama and Melakkath Gopalan Menon. During the early stages of his acting career, he began performing with his brother called M. G. Chakrapani. After two unsuccessful marriages, he got married V. N. Janaki in 1965.
Achievements
He won lots of awards including honors from ‘Tamil Nadu State Film Awards’ and ‘Filmfare Awards South’.
Trivia
He was inspired by K.P. Kesavan and Kali N. Rathnam.
He survived an assassination attempt in 1967 after he was shot two times in the ear.
His death was caused by series of illness like kidney failure, stroke, and heart attack.
