About Manuel de Falla
Manuel de Falla was arguably Spain’s most celebrated composer during the 20th century. He started gaining attention with his 1897 work titled “Melodía”. He went on to complete many works which included "Seven Spanish Folksongs (Siete canciones populares españolas)", “Los amores de la Inés” and the 19i5 ballet titled "El amor brujo".
Family
His parents were María Jesús Matheu and José María Falla.
Education
He was trained at the famous Real Conservatorio de Música y Declamación.
Awards
In 1940, de Falla was made a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Alfonso X the Wise. He was also a member of the Royal Academy of Science, Letters and Fine Arts of Belgium.
Trivia
His image was featured on Spain’s 100-pesetas banknote in 1970.
