About Margaret Bourke-White
She was the first foreign photographer allowed to take pictures of Soviet Industry in 1930. She released her autobiography titled “Portrait of Myself in 1963’. Before that, she became the associate editor for Fortune Magazine in 1929. In 1936, she became the first female photojournalist for Life Magazine.
Personal life
Margaret was born in the Bronx, US and was a photojournalist. Her mother was a perfectionist and she learnt that from her. She developed an interest in photography with the urging of her father when she was young but he passed away not long after. She was married to Everett Chapman in 1924 but the marriage lasted for two years. About thirteen years later, she married Erskine Caldwell who was a writer but that marriage also ended about three years later.
Death
She developed Parkinson's disease and died from it almost two decades after first developing it. The disease was weakening her and that inhibited her career growth. She went through a few surgeries to help the situation. She died in August 1971.
Trivia
She collaborated with Erskine Caldwell; her husband, and released a book about the great depression titled “You Have Seen Their Faces” in 1937.
