Marie Curie was a Polish chemist and physicist.
Her Highlights/Legacy
She is mainly responsible for discovering the elements polonium and radium.
She was the founder of the Curie Institutes in Paris and Warsaw.
She won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903, along with her husband, Pierre Curie, and physicist Henri Becquerel. She also won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1911, whice makes her the first person and the only woman to win twice and in multiple sciences.
Her Personal Life
She was married to physicist Pierre Curie. She died of aplastic anemia brought on by exposure to radiation at the age of 66.
