Marisa Berenson introduced herself to the entertainment industry as a model in the 1960s. She was initially discovered by Diana Vreeland, an editor of Vogue magazine. The stylish model was featured on the cover of a 1970 edition of the magazine.
Acting career
After gaining some fame as a model, the American entertainer shifted her attention to acting and started earning roles in 1971. She gained global recognition for her part in the film titled “Cabaret” where she portrayed the Natalia Landauer character.
In the 1989 Italian TV series “Ocean” she played the role of Muneca Chavez. She’s also known for her role in the 1975 film “Barry Lyndon”.
Family
Her original name is Vittoria Marisa Schiaparelli Berenson and is the daughter of American diplomat Robert Lawrence Berenson. Her sister Berry Berenson is also into acting and modeling.
Her marriage to James Randall, which ended in 1978, produced a child named Starlite Melody Randall. Four years later, she got married to Aaron Richard Golub, but the union lasted for five years.
Achievements
Her role in “Cabaret” earned her an NBR Award. For the same role, she was nominated for a BAFTA Award, and a Golden Globe Award.
