About Mark Mothersbaugh
Mark Mothersbaugh, is an American musician, who in 1973, formed the rock band known as Devo alongside Bob Lewis and Gerald Casale. In 1978, the group signed a contract with Warner Bros. and issued their maiden album entitled “Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!”.
The collective is best known for their 1980 hit song "Whip It".
Solo works
Aside from his success with the group, he has also worked as a solo entertainer. In 1985, he released his first studio album which was named “Muzik for Insomniaks”. He has gone on to work on other projects including providing the music for films and television series like “Cheats” and “Quicksilver Highway”.
Family
He’s one of the children of Robert Sr and Mary Margaret Mothersbaugh. While with Devo, he performed alongside his two brothers, Jim and Bob. He has been married to Anita Greenspan and they have two adopted kids named Hui Hui and Mai Li. Before marrying Anita, he was the husband of Nancye Ferguson.
Education
After completing Woodridge High School, he entered Kent State University where he studied art.
Achievements
At the BMI Film and TV Awards in 2004, he received the Richard Kirk prize.
