About Mark Owen
Growing up, Mark Owen wasn’t so enthused about music. He played soccer and worked in a bank before he was selected into the pop group known as ‘Take That’. Since he joined the collective in 1989, he has helped them to record many hit singles including "Pray" which became number one in the United Kingdom. He played a crucial role in the production of the group’s maiden album dubbed “Take That & Party”.
Solo career
After the group announced their disbandment in 1996, Owen pursued an independent career. That same year, he dropped his first single entitled "Child" which peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart. He issued his maiden solo album “Green Man” later that year.
In 2004, he unveiled his record label known as Sedna Records. It was under the label that his third album named “How the Mighty Fall” was released. The following year, he reunited with the group.
Family
He was raised by his parents Keith and Mary, alongside two siblings called Tracey and Daniel. In 2009, he tied the knot with Emma Ferguson, and together they have raised three kids: Fox, Jack, and Willow.
Education
He schooled at St Augustine's Catholic Schools.
Awards
As a member of Take That, Owen has received many prizes including BRIT Award, Q Award, and MTV Video Music Award.
Trivia
As a soccer player, he played for Chadderton F.C. after a couple of training sessions with Manchester United.
